FC Rossiyanka forward Sofia Jakobsson admitted the better side had won after two strikes from Yuki Nagasato and a Tetyana Chorna own goal wrapped up a 5-0 aggregate win for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in Russia. Visiting captain Jennifer Zietz echoed that sentiment, underlining a superior team ethic, and is already looking forward to meeting Olympique Lyonnais in the last four in a repeat of last season's UEFA Women's Champions League final.

Sofia Jakobsson, Rossiyanka forward
We tried to play our best football, but Potsdam are very powerful opponents; they made us pay for our mistakes. At half-time our coach urged us to sharpen up, he told us that we can't stop fighting despite trailing 2-0, and asked us to play the remaining half at a high tempo.

It is true our goalkeeper [Elvira Todua] was punished after twice fumbling the ball, but I don't blame her – we are all guilty. We did not play well today. Potsdam are a better side. I can only congratulate our opponents and wish them luck against Olympique Lyonnais in the semis. I also want to thank the fans who supported us in number today. It is a pity we were not able to reward them with a victory.

Jennifer Zietz, Potsdam captain
We are happy with our victory and qualifying for the semis. The first leg in Potsdam was ultimately the key. We put on a decent performance at home and beat them 2-0. We had never met Rossiyanka before but still paid them a lot of respect. There are a number of quality players in their squad, but we were more united during both legs and played better as a team.

As for the Rossiyanka goalkeeper's mistakes, I would say she was not playing alone. If someone makes a mistake there should be a team-mate on hand to correct it. We played in that manner today, unlike our opponents. We are happy to meet Olympique Lyonnais in the semis. They defeated us in last year's final and I am sure we can expect more difficult games [than the quarter-finals] both for us and them.
