UEFA Europa League contenders Hannover 96 have beefed up their forward line with the signing of Senegalese striker Mame Diouf from Manchester United FC, on a contract until the end of June 2014.

The 24-year-old will train with his new team-mates for the first time on Monday, having watched Hannover's 1-0 Bundesliga win against 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday night from the stands. The player joined United from Norwegian side Molde FK in 2009, and spent the 2010/11 season on loan at Blackburn Rovers FC. However, the three-times capped international has not made a competitive appearance this season, though he scored once in five substitute showings for the Red Devils in 2009/10.

Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said: "I'm happy that we have managed to find another attacking option in Mame Diouf. We will try to get him integrated as quickly as possible so he can help us out in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Europa League." Hannover meet Club Brugge KV in the round of 32, kicking off at home on 16 February.
