FC Porto edged ahead of Manchester United FC in the all-time honours list by winning the UEFA Europa League to seal their seventh piece of international silverware.
In defeating SC Braga in Dublin on Wednesday, the recently crowned Portuguese title winners added the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League crown to their two European Champions Clubs' Cups, gained in 1987 and 2004, the 1987 UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Cup title they claimed in 2003, and their two European/South American Cup crowns from 1987 and 2004.
Porto are now ninth outright in the overall list having secured one trophy more than United, who have the opportunity to draw level again by beating FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League final. Should the Catalans triumph in London, their overall trophy haul would move to 11, taking them up to joint third alongside Liverpool FC and AFC Ajax.
Although Real Madrid CF have won the European Champion Clubs' Cup nine times, more than any other club, AC Milan top the overall honours table. The Rossoneri have 17 trophies in total, one more than Madrid, courtesy of their seven European Champion Clubs' Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups, five UEFA Super Cups and three European/South American Cups.
