Olympique Lyonnais's ambitions of finishing third and claiming a UEFA Champions League berth next season took a significant blow as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Toulouse FC.
Goals from Pantxi Sirieix (9), Emmanuel Rivière (22) and Umut Bulut (90+1) did the damage as Toulouse moved level on points with Lyon in the Ligue 1 standings, six points adrift of third-placed LOSC Lille Métropole. It brought more disappointment for a Lyon side still smarting from Saturday's French League Cup final defeat by Olympique de Marseille. Didier Deschamps's side were also in action on Wednesday, drawing 1-1 at home to relegation threatened SM Caen.
